Sweet Moments

Sweet Moments

3 Sisters
There are those moments or seasons (even better) when all around you, you see touches of Heaven. The last three weeks for us as a family (and for many others too) has been just like that. We’ve had big celebrations, quiet dinners, late DVD nights, loud laughter filled meals out, sun bathing, pool time…and it has been glorious. Not just in the usual way, in the ‘this is so God’s grace and love’ way.

We have also as a family have had our fair share of moments where we’ve said ‘this is so God’s grace’ in moments very different to those I’ve just described. Moments where our hearts have felt like they were breaking beyond repair but somehow stayed together, moments where we’ve sobbed over the phone at the reality that a continent separated us when we just wanted to curl up and ‘be’ together… God’s love and grace is displayed in those moments as much as in the ‘too good to be true’ moments. How incredible is that? Only God!

I am learning that God is the God of the mountain tops and the God of the valleys. He is God of the sorrow filled times and God of the joyful celebrations, there is no moment, no emotion, no uncertainty…nothing that He isn’t a part of, IF we invite Him in.

You see, all those times (the highs and lows) where God has been so present, well He was invited in. When my brother Roddy passed away, we prayed. When we have missed my eldest sister and her family too much to be bear, we’ve prayed. When we were preparing for their holiday visit this Christmas, we prayed. When our sweet Abby felt ready to meet her ‘Superman’, we prayed. God was invited in and when God is invited He ALWAYS shows up.

Braveheart and his sweetheart
Don’t miss the opportunity to invite God in today. Whether you’re washing dishes, changing nappies, sun tanning, running…wherever you find yourself, alone or surrounded by others, invite Jesus in and experience the divine privilege we have as daughters to live every day with a ‘touch of Heaven on Earth’.
